ARA Review Report Tabled Today in Ontario Legislature

October 30, 2013

The report of the Standing Committee on General Government on the review of the Aggregate Resources Act was tabled in the Ontario Legislature this afternoon.

A copy of the report is now available here.

The Standing Committee on General Government commenced its review of the Aggregate Resources Act in March 2012 and held public hearings in Toronto, Orangeville, Kitchener, Kanata and Sudbury, ON. To further the Committee’s understanding and knowledge, OSSGA also arranged for MPPs on the Committee to tour operating and rehabilitated aggregate sites.

The Committee’s work was halted when the Legislature was prorogued in October 2012. However, its work was reconvened in April 2013 leading to the report that was tabled today.

Now that the report has been tabled, the Ministry of Natural Resources will review the report’s recommendations and decide how it may proceed.
OSSGA will review the full report shortly and provide a synopsis to members as soon as possible.
