OSSGA Pushes for Aggregate to Be Included in One Project, One Process (1P1P) Framework

November 12, 2025 at 6:00 AM

In October, the provincial government introduced the One Project, One Process (1P1P) framework to help speed up approval timelines for mining projects. This framework seeks to replace the current, fragmented approval system with a single coordinated pathway, and in doing so reduce timelines by 50 per cent.

The aggregate industry faces much of the same challenges as mining including multi-agency duplication and overlapping jurisdictions. The 1P1P framework aims to eliminate that and could serve as an excellent template for what the aggregate industry can do to speed up approvals for new sites as both provincial and federal government prepare for historic infrastructure investments.

OSSGA is urging the provincial government to do two things: create a pilot project to implement the 1P1P framework in the aggregate industry and create a working group to design the project.
