We are pleased to share the recipients of OSSGA’s 2025 Capstone and Industry Recognition Awards, recognizing excellence in Ontario's aggregate sector through community engagement, environmental leadership, net‑zero innovation and progressive rehabilitation.

Capstone Award

Environmental Achievement Award
- The Miller Group for their Bees, Trees and Seeds program
Net-Zero Award
- Amrize Canada for a multi‑site grid‑power conversion strategy, including a $1‑million line‑power extension at their Woodstock Quarry projected to avoid up to 1,460 tonnes of CO₂ annually.
- Green Infrastructure Partners (GIP) for electrifying dewatering, eliminating 46,000 litres of diesel annually at their Kemptville Quarry and connecting their Mountain Quarry to Ontario’s clean grid, plus adding solar power to the scale house — achieving a 100 per cent reduction in diesel use for those facilities during the summer.
- Walker Aggregates & Construction for replacing large diesel generators with clean grid electricity and eliminating 217,000 litres of diesel, 598 tonnes of CO₂e and reducing greenhouse gases by 14 per cent at their McGregor Quarry.
Progressive Rehabilitation Award
- CBM Aggregates for the 22.6 ha agricultural rehabilitation of their Gray Pit, the successful naturalization of 1 ha of their Osprey Quarry’s west wall and the rehabilitation of 3.7 ha of their Sunderland Pit site.
- The Miller Group for the 4 ha agricultural rehabilitation of their Boyington Pit 1, the 12.8 acre naturalization and agricultural rehabilitation of their Neutel Pit (including soybean seeding in 2024) and the 2.3 ha agricultural rehabilitation of their Whitelaw Pit.
